Experiential Dynamic Therapy
About Me
I received my master's in mental health counseling in 2023 from the University of Rochester
I have worked in private practice and in a mental health clinic with a wide range of populations with various conditions including anxiety, depressive, schizophrenia spectrum, trauma and stressor-related disorders, as well as substance use disorders.
I have experience assisting with the facilitation of various types of therapy groups, including dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), anger management, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and grief group.
I received training in Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) and am a Level 1 AEDP therapist. I continue to study, practice, and receive training in AEDP and Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP). I also continue to pursue training in other counseling modalities to have a comprehensive set of skills to best meet each individual’s unique needs and goals.
I completed my master's thesis on how AEDP's theory and practice can contribute to improving the therapeutic relationship
I have taken an advanced course in working with emotions experientially in psychotherapy, from a modern analytic group psychotherapy approach. I am actively engaging with an ongoing weekly training group for therapists to train in the modern analytic group psychotherapy approach
I have previous human services experience working as a Health Homes Care Manager, where I helped individuals from various marginalized communities, including people living with HIV/AIDS, individuals with substance use disorders, and individuals recently released from incarceration, address their social determinants of health in order to self-manage their care.
